Feedback is the constant effort you have to fight on the steering wheel just to go straight due to the paddle wheel effect from the propeller of an Outboard engine at speed. A non feedback helm (NFB) takes away this unwanted turning motion and reduces effort required to turn the wheel.
NFB is recommended as replacement steering for all non-power assisted outboards.
More efficient than mechanical rotary steering, is our Octopus Type S or T drive which will remove the benefit of the NFB helm, but will allow the boat to be steered by the autopilot taking away the need to steer manually for long lengths of time.
